Quiet, friendly campsite set on a sheep farm at the foot of the Howgill Fells

Based at the foot of the Howgill Fells, Low Greenside Farm offers rustic back-to-basic camping. The small, quiet and friendly campsite can cater for up to 30 people at a time with spacious pitches and lovely panoramic views. Two friendly local pubs with riverside gardens are perfect for an evening drink and a home-cooked meal.
There are a varied and beautiful hill or valley walks from the campsite through the countryside, with direct access onto the Howgill Fells. The Lakes, the Dales, and the lovely Eden Valley are all easy distance for exploring.

The clean, well-maintained campsite offers spacious pitches for tents in a level field. Simple, clean facilities include hot water showers, toilets and washing up facilities and campfires are allowed in the hearths provided. The campsite offers a hosepipe for water, storage facilities and a workshop and bike washing facilities for cyclists.

From the M6 (6.5 miles): leave the motorway at junction 38. At the roundabout, take the A685 towards Brough and Scotch Corner. 6.5 miles from the roundabout, at the big blue road sign, turn right towards Ravenstonedale. After 150 yards, turn right at the sign for Greenside. Low Greenside is the first farm on the left. From the A685 at Kirkby Stephen (5 miles): follow the A685 south from Kirkby Stephen. After about 4.5 miles, at the bottom of a long steep hill, turn left towards Ravenstonedale. Ignore the turning left into the village, and continue (passing the Kings Head Hotel, set back on your left) until you see a sign for Greenside. Turn left here. Low Greenside is the first farm on the left.
