More Photos

About Shallow Grange Lovely views, wide open spaces and a piece of rural England all await you at Shallow Grange. We are situated between the spa town of Buxton and the market town of Bakewell, an ideal location for discovering the Peak District. Shallow Grange is set away from the main road and sits amidst 110 acres of grassy farmland and rolling hills in the heart of the Peak National Park. There is a variety of unspoilt walks just a stone's throw from our door and you can discover Sites of Special Interest (SSI's) or venture out on nature trails. The High Peak, Tissington & Monsal Trails are all very close. There is so much to do in the Derbyshire Dales. Once you have booked your stay, you can think about how to relax during your break. Take your choice of cycling by heather covered moors, walking through rocky valleys or visiting picturesque villages nearby, climbing, caving, hang-gliding, fishing, sailing, canoeing, riding and trekking. We are predominantly a working farm, so if you are expecting a site with a bar, a games room, a shop, a children's playground, and a swimming pool, then this is probably not the place for you.To camp here is to be in noble company! There is well documented evidence showing battalions of the famous Sherwood Foresters using Shallow Grange as their summer camp at the beginning of the last century.

Shallow Grange is located 3 miles south of Buxton, just off the A515 By Car - Don't rely on your Sat Nav. Use the directions below: From Buxton: Follow signs for the A515 southbound, signposted Ashbourne. At Brierlow Bar, turn left onto the A5270 (Old Coalpit Lane). Look out for our sign on the left, after 500m. From Chesterfield/Bakewell: Approximately _ mile after the dual carriageway section of the A6 around Taddington, turn left onto the A5270. This is clearly signed. Follow the A5270 for around 1 mile. Ignore the turnings for Chelmorton on the left & continue on A5270. You will see Shallow Grange on the right hand side after the S bend. If you tap our postcode into your satnav to find us, you may well find you get taken to Chelmorton village. Because this is a rural area, the postcode covers a large area. Try to locate us manually on your satnav's map, or use your sense of direction! How did you manage before these things? (Our Postcode has changed. It's now SK17 9FW.
