Simple camping in an unspoilt location with glorious views of the Dorset Downs

Haddon Copse Farm is a lovely 30 acre organic farm in the heart of Dorset’s Blackmore Vale. The farm offers simple back-to-basics camping in unspoilt location with glorious views of the Dorset Downs. The surrounding area provides excellent walking and rambling and the River Stour offers cool respite in the summer.
The nearby Dorset Downs will delight outdoor lovers with myriad footpaths and beautiful walks, while history buffs can explore the The Iron Age fort at Hambledon Hill, whose hills are also home to the rare the Adonis blue butterfly. Sturminster Newton has a good collection of pubs and shops and Sherbourne and Shaftesbury are also worth a visit.

The farm offers seven flat grassy tent pitches (no hook-ups) which are well-spaced and have their own fire pits. There are also two semi-equipped bell tents for hire for families or small groups. A toilet block behind one of the barns provides toilets and solar-powered showers in two wet-rooms. There is also a washing up area, bins and recycling, as well as logs and local charcoal for sale.
The farm produces award-winning organic meat, which is available onsite during the camping season, along with fresh free range eggs. Order the night before and they'll be delivered to your tent along with local organic milk, freshly baked bread and organic butter. You can also advance order sausages, chicken, lamp and pork for the perfect farm-to-table barbeque.

Haddon Copse Farm is situated on the Sturminster Newton to Hazelbury Bryan road – do not take the fingerpost turning to Fifehead Neville but continue for 150 yards and you will see their wooden farm sign. At the top of the track, on the left, there is a car-parking area. Park here and use one of the barrows to take your belongings to one of the seven pitches marked in the field. No vehicles on the campsite field. Settle yourselves in and the owners will come and see you at some point.
