East Sussex, Rye
The name tipi comes from the Sioux words ti, meaning “to dwell or live” and pi meaning “used for”. Fully decked-out, well-lit, ventilated and secure, the tipi is a wonderful way to experience living with nature. Our tipis are made in the USA using high-quality cotton canvas with a waterproof and flameproof finish and the wooden poles are all cut and prepared on-site from locally-grown trees. Our tipis sleep 2 and 4 people and are beautifully furnished in a traditional North American Indian style with comfortable beds, colourful cushions and rugs and come fully equipped with everything you should need for cooking and washing up. There's a hot shower and toilets on site and we can offer plenty of wood for cooking on your outdoor open fire. Your tipi will be prepared in advance and made ready for your arrival and we’ll even give you a wheelbarrow to carry your stuff from the car to the tipi. All you need to bring with you is your sense of adventure, your sleeping bags, food, towels, a torch ... and maybe your wellies ... just in case! Weather happens so it’s important to note that Sussex Tipi Holidays can’t be held responsible for the great British weather ... and as much as we hope that the sun will shine for you for ... please come prepared. Tipis are nomadic dwellings with a unique construction, to make sure that our guests are kept as dry as possible, we have fitted each tipi with a rain catcher that protects the living area.
