Studley House Farm
North Yorkshire, Scarborough
In times past, it would only have been the aristocracy who could stay in a historic 19th Century farmhouse in beautiful countryside, on the site of an ancient Royal Forest, and close to what is possibly England's smallest stately home - a veritable English Chateau. But today you can enjoy this same privilege at Studley House Farm in the North Yorkshire village of Ebberston, away from the bustle of everyday life. You might prefer the luxury en suite Silver Award bed and breakfast accommodation, accompanied by a superior Yorkshire breakfast. Or perhaps the independence and privacy of a superb self-catering holiday cottage might suit you better. Or you could consider the seclusion of our blissfully hidden caravan park for eight touring caravans located in a little corner of its own. You will enjoy a warm Yorkshire welcome whatever your preference.A classic vacation ...Whether you prefer a relaxing or an energetic holiday, you will enjoy a classic vacation at Studley House Farm. Located in the Vale of Pickering, by the edge of the North York Moors and within easy reach of the colourful Yorkshire Coast, you will find a wide variety of places to visit, attractions to see, places to drink and to eat, things to do, and some beautifully undisturbed locations for walking and cycling. The pretty and ancient village of Ebberston, with its stone cottages and running stream, is easy to access and has two public houses, as well as an Anglican and a Methodist church. Not far to the west is the colourful village of Thornton le Dale with its thatched cottage and 14th Century church, and the ancient market town of Pickering with its castle and the terminus for the North York Moors (steam) Railway. The seafaring town of Whitby, the smugglers' haunt of Robin Hood's Bay, the beach resorts of Scarborough and Filey and the historic City of York are only a short journey away, as well as the historic country house Castle Howard - film location for 'Brideshead Revisited', and the popular village of Goathland - setting for the television series 'Heartbeat'. Or you could visit the picturesque village of Hutton le Hole - where sheep, ducks and tourists roam free or - at the right time of year - enjoy the blanket of daffodils that surrounds Farndale. In our very own back garden you can sample the resources of our Family History Research Centre - a well-equipped library and resource centre for family and local history research.
