Superbly scenic campsite on the edge of Snowdonia National Park

Resting on the edge of Snowdonia National Park between the Moel Eilio and the Elephant Mountains (Mynydd Mawr), Tyn Yr Onnen Farm is a stunningly scenic campsite that makes for a hiking holiday.
Keen-footed wayfarers of all abilities will delight in the surrounding heathlands around the farm that offer excellent walking, hiking, and rambling. The campsite has a route running directly from the farm up to Snowdon's peak for the hardcore hikers and a more relaxed summit only a few miles away. If you are more a seaside than summit person, the beautiful coastline and beaches of the Llŷn Peninsula and the Isle of Anglesey are within an easy driving distance from the campsite.

Based on a working 180-acre sheep farm, the campground offers spacious, sheltered pitches with plenty of room for campfires and barbeques in the camping fields. Clean and modern amenities include a newly refurbished loo and shower block with free hot showers, baby changing facilities, disabled facilities and a utility room with a washing-up area. There is also a campers' fridge and freezer, washing machine and tumble- dryer.
Kids can coo at the donkeys, pigs, chickens, ducks, turkeys and newborn lambs that live on the farm or entertain themselves at the play area with sandpit, or in the TV room with table tennis and pool table on rainy days. The local village, Waunfawr, is within walking distance and has a pub serving delicious home-cooked food and ales on tap.

Just off the A4085 between Caernarfon and Beddgelert is the village of Waunfawr. Look for the Skoda garage on the right, pass this and then take the third left. If you pass a church on the right or reach the bridge over a river then you have gone too far. The campsite is on your left about a kilometre from the main village road.
