My family and I are delighted to be the new owners of the Norman Knight Pub. Our vision is to improve and develop the service, food offering, obviously the beer offering and make sure we do it with you, the customer at the heart of our thinking. We own the Stratford Upon Avon Brewery and are very proud to offer four of our Ales exclusively at the Norman Knight, we have reduced the price too!Our kitchen is now fully open with a new brigade of award winning and experienced chefs offering superb, traditional pub food, priced very keenly. We don?t believe in charging the earth, we believe in a fair price, great food, friendly service and happy customers. We would be very keen to hear from you personally if you have any comments or ideas, we?re very approachable, down to earth people with a passion to deliver a great experience here at the Norman Knight. If you would like to contact me, please email me on rich@sua-brewery.co.uk. We look forward to welcoming you and hopefully meeting you soon.Richard Williams WHAT'S ONThe Norman Knight in Whichford is a traditional country inn, which retains all its character and atmosphere, yet offers exceptional food, drink and facilities.Set within beautiful surroundings in a Grade 4 conservation area on the border of Warwickshire and Oxfordshire in the Cotswold District, it is an ideal base from which to experience your visit or stay. The Norman Knight has for years been a favourite for those seeking a truly unspoilt rural break, being halfway between Stratford-on-Avon and Oxford and yet close to the classic Cotswolds towns of Moreton-in-Marsh, Stow on the Wold, Burford and Broadway. The Norman Knight sells some of the best real ales (including our own) and traditional local fare prepared by an outstanding team, together with exceptional service, all combine to make your visit really special and quite magical.Whichford is a hugely popular area for walkers (see separate page on suggested walks in this area), and there are golf courses, fishing lakes, swimming pools, tennis courts and riding stables nearby. The name of the pub reflects the history of the village."Wicford" is recorded in William the Conqueror's Doomsday book, and we know that Sir John de Mohun and the Knights of Dunster held the manors, the church and the castle here until about 1340.The castle is now long gone, but the beautiful Norman church still remains.
