Quiet, rustic campsite with stunning views across the Dorset countryside to Corfe Castle
Downshay Farm is a working farm in the heart of the Isle of Purbeck that offers in-field camping with breath-taking views. Owned by the Pike family since 1956, the family-friendly campsite is ideally located for exploring the area.
Looking out at Corfe Castle and the Purbeck Hills, the farm is surrounded by great walking paths and biking trails, as well as some excellent pubs and restaurants. If you feel the need to venture slightly further afield, the lovely sandy beaches of Studland Bay and the seaside town of Swanage are two miles away.
Downshay Farm’s campsite field offers room for about 90 tents, as well as a separate field for caravans with 12 pitches and electrical hook-ups. Each area has their own well-maintained facilities blocks with men’s and women’s showers, toilets and washing up areas.
While the farm does not have its own shop, there are several shops, pubs and restaurants nearby. Frisbee or football can be enjoyed in a specially designated area and barbeques are allowed with barrels available for guests to use.
