Burgundy is part of the greater region of Burgundy-Franche-Comté, which is a great choice of destination for nature lovers.
Burgundy is famous worldwide for its fine wines (including Beaujolais and Chablis) and many of the vineyards can be visited. A visit to the region should definitely include a vineyard tour and wine tasting. The Route des Grands Crus wine route takes you through some of the most prestigious wine areas between Dijon and Beaune.
As well as these two towns, Vezelay, Autun and Nevers also have lots of historic interest and Noyers sur Serein, a stunningly beautiful medieval village near Chablis is lovely to wander around.
The Morvan Regional Natural Park is an area of outstanding natural beauty with great hiking opportunities.
