How do I search for a campsite?

If you already know the general area, or even the specific town or campsite you want to stay in, simply use the search tool, entering:

  • Your country or location of choice (region, department, town, or even campsite)
  • Your holiday dates
  • The number of people
  • The type of accommodation required (rental of accommodation such as a mobile home, or pitch for your own tent, campervan or caravan).

Then, click on “Search for campsites” to discover all our great selection of campsites.

If you don’t have a specific area in mind, use our mega-menu to give you ideas. Here you can:

  • See popular destinations at a glance
  • Browse curated collections of campsites by classification, surroundings, amenities or theme.

How do I use search filters to find a campsite?

To help you choose the campsite that ticks all the boxes for your holiday, you can refine your search further:

  • Use the filters to the left of the search page to indicate the characteristics most important to you (waterpark, kids’ club, near the sea, etc.) Press ‘Apply Filters’ to see the refined results. If this narrows down the selection too much, you can always go back and uncheck any individual filter box or select ‘clear all filters’. By selecting the ‘Auto update’ switch in the ‘Add filters’ section, any selected filters will automatically update the page search results.
  • Use the map on the top right of the search page to see all campsites in an area. You can search by moving the map (clicking and dragging on the map). Each map pin is a campsite and you can click on the pin to learn more about the campsite. In map mode a list of campsites available in the current map area is listed to the left of the map. The campsite list can be sorted by relevence, rating and price.

Services and accommodation types

What accommodation types are available in campsites?

Rental: mobile homes, chalets, bungalows and other accommodation available to rent.

Whatever accommodation option you choose, expect a surface area of between 20 and 40 m², designed for two to eight people. Rental accommodation typically offers two to three bedrooms, a living room with a sofa (sometimes convertible) and, normally, an outdoor terrace. You can normally park one car next to your accommodation – there will be overflow parking areas for additional vehicles.

Pitch: space for your tent, campervan, caravan or motorhome.

Sanitary blocks will be available close to your pitch. During the booking process, please specify in the “Optional special requests” section whether you are coming in a motorhome, with a caravan or just with a car or bikes and tent, and the dimensions of your vehicle. Electricity may be an optional extra to be added during the booking process. It is normally possible to park one car on the pitch.

Does a baby need to be counted in a campsite booking?

Babies (0-2 years old) must be included in the rental accommodmation capacity, which should not be exceeded for safety reasons. So if you are two adults and a baby, for example, even if you have your own cot, campsites require you to book rental accommodation for 3+ people.

Can I bring my pet camping?

While there are multiple pet-friendly campsites on our website, some campsites don’t allow pets during certain times of the year, such as high season, or have other conditions. To find out more, read the details on the campsite’s profile page, including their terms and conditions. We recommend that you inform the campsite of your pet’s size and weight when booking, using the “Special requests (optional)” field.

Do mobile homes on campsites have TVs?

If there is a TV in a rental accommodation unit, it will appear in the description of the accommodation type.

Can I book extras when booking through Campsited?

The facilities of the accommodation types and the services provided by the campsite all feature in the campsite description on our website. Any optional extras available at an additional cost (for example, bed linen, TV, pets, baby cot, electricity) will be proposed during the booking process.

Can I make special requests when booking through Campsited?

If you have any special requests (for example, you would like to book two rental units or pitches side-by-side), you can use the “Special requests (optional)” field when making the booking. Campsites will do their best to meet your request, where possible.

  2. Check the booking summary (on the right). Enter your contact details and add any extras you want (pet, bed linen, cleaning at the end of your stay, etc.). Click on “Final step”.
  3. Enter your payment details and then confirm that you have read and accepted the terms and conditions by checking the related box. Click “Book safely”.

How will I know my campsite booking is confirmed?

Once payment is complete, you will receive an email confirming receipt of your booking request. As most campsites do not have immediate booking, this means that the request has been sent to the campsite.

The campsite itself will send you the confirmation of your booking. Generally, they do this very quickly, within a maximum of 48 hours. In the majority of cases, there is no issue and the booking is confirmed as was requested. In the very rare case of unavailability, the Campsited Customer Service will come back to you with other comparable options for your trip (which you can accept or decline).

If you do not receive an email following completion of payment, the first thing to do is check your junk mail, as well as your inbox. If this initial email went into your spam folder, you can click at the top of it to restore it to the inbox. You should also add our email address [email protected] to the address book within your email client, to be sure to receive any further emails directly to your inbox.

If you don’t see any email even in your spam folder, please contact us by email at [email protected] stating:

  • The name and surname of the person who made the booking
  • The contact details (email and telephone number) linked to this booking
  • The dates of the stay
  • The name of the campsite
  • The booking reference number if you have saved it.

We will come back to you as soon as we have resolved the situation.

After your booking is finalised, some campsites may also send you an email requesting that you complete an online information form, to confirm your personal details.

Can I book several accommodation units of different types?

To book several accommodation types (for example a chalet and tent pitch), a separate booking needs to be made for each.

For group bookings (more than 10 people) or multiple bookings at the same campsite, send us your request, preferably by email to [email protected] .

Payments

Is payment via Campsited secure?

When you book online using your credit/debit card, your payment is 100% secure with Campsited. We use a secure connection (3D secure authentication) which means your personal and bank details are encrypted and are not stored by Campsited.

If authentication of your card is required, you may be redirected to a new page for this. There are different ways for banks to verify the identity of the cardholder – the most common is to send a one-time code or password by SMS. If 3D secure verification fails, we recommend that you contact your bank to find out how to activate and use it. Your bank is the only organisation that can assist with this, for security reasons.

When do I have to pay the deposit and the balance?

  • If booking more than 30 days prior to your holiday, it may be possible to pay a deposit to secure the booking, then pay the balance 30 days before arrival. The deposit amount is set by each campsite, but it is most commonly 30%.
  • For bookings made less than 30 days prior to arrival, the total amount of the stay must be paid to secure your booking.

What payment methods do campsites accept?

Credit cards are the most widely accepted method of payment by the campsites on Campsited.com.

In some cases, bank transfers are also accepted.

If you pay by card, your card will only be charged once the campsite has confirmed your booking. The deposit appears only as a “pending” transaction on your bank statement (amount not debited but blocked), to guarantee your booking request. If the campsite has to refuse your request due to lack of availability, this amount is automatically released.

Does Campsited accept VACAF vouchers and ANCV cheques?

Campsited  cannot accept holiday vouchers, including VACAF vouchers and ANCV cheques.

However, if you are booking more than 30 days before your holiday and  just paying a deposit to secure your booking, it may be possible to pay  the balance in holiday vouchers directly to the campsite.  Contact the campsite directly, quoting your booking reference, to learn about the campsites policy.

Difficulties completing transaction

If for any reason the booking payment fails, you will receive an email from Campsited notifying you that the payment was not completed. The email will contain a link to finalise the payment process.

The transaction may not complete for a number of different reasons, including:

  • Credit card has expired
  • Daily limit set by your bank or credit card company exceeded
  • Billing address and phone number entered do not match the billing address and phone number associated with your credit card
  • Fraud prevention measures
  • Credit card doesn’t have available funds to make the payment.

You will need to contact your bank or credit card company for any further assistance.

Cancellations and amendments

Will I be able to cancel and get a refund?

When you book online using Campsited, you are booking directly with the campsite. The campsite may accept a change of dates, a refund in the form of a voucher or a full refund, but this depends on their own policy. The campsite’s refund and cancellation policy is included in the booking conditions, which you will have seen during the booking process, and can be found in your confirmation email.

We understand that cancellations usually occur in unforeseen and stressful circumstances. In such situations, we will always do our best to help you resolve the problem.

If you wish to cancel your booking, send us a cancellation request by email to [email protected] with the following information:

  • Your booking number
  • The name and surname of the main customer
  • The name of the campsite
  • The dates of your stay
  • The email address used to make your booking
  • Your phone number
  • The reason for your cancellation request

If a booking is cancelled by the campsite, in accordance with the campsite’s cancellation and refund policy, you will be entitled to a refund.

Pricing

What extras are not included in the price at campsites?

Typically, laundry, guided tours, pets, electricity, cots, barbecue, cancellation insurance and other similar services are not included. If available, you will either be able to add them as extras during the booking process, or purchase them at the campsite’s reception once you arrive.

Are tourist tax and any other taxes included in the price?

Tourist tax is payable per adult, per day. The amount can vary by country and area. There may be taxes applied by both the municipality and the department. The amount changes regularly, which may result in a slight increase or decrease in the total cost of your booking between time of booking and time of stay. Tourist tax is shown on invoices.

If there are other taxes applicable, they will be listed in “Your price summary”, once you have selected the accommodation and before you have booked and paid.

Are booking fees included in the price?

Campsited does not charge any booking fees. Campsites pay us a small commission on every booking we send them.

Arrival and departure

What are the arrival and departure times at campsites?

Arrival and departure times depend on the campsite. This information appears in the general conditions of the campsite, included in your confirmation email, or on our website under the campsite description. Please check and respect these times.

Can I arrive at a campsite outside of normal check-in times?

If you are running late or need a late check-in, it is always best to call or email the campsite to make arrangements. The campsite’s contact details are included in your booking confirmation email.

Unused nights will not be refunded in the case of delayed arrival, but you will need to contact the campsite to confirm that you are still coming.

Can I get a late check-out at a campsite?

You can ask the campsite about the possibility of a late check-out on arrival.

After your holiday

If I have a problem during my stay, what do I do?

Campsited does not own or operate campsites. By booking on our website, you agree to enter into a contract with the campsite and not with Campsited, which acts only as an intermediary.

Therefore, if a problem arises with your accommodation, we ask you to contact the campsite directly in the first instance. The telephone number and email address of the campsite is listed in your booking confirmation. In case of difficulty, you can send us an email to [email protected] , including your name, first name, booking number, email address and telephone number. We will do our best to help you resolve any issue.
