Tickets for Crocodile Planet (including the scientist adventure) are only 12 euros for adults and 8 euros for children ages 5-10.

3. Go to Le Puy Du Fou

The park of Le Puy Du Fou is made up of almost 30 villages, each inspired by a different time period, such as a medieval city, a Renaissance castle, and a late 1700s expedition ship.

Your children will get to use their imagination to face treacherous seas, fight Vikings, and even face ghosts.

But the real can't-miss activity here is Cinescenie. This 1 hour and 40-minute show has 2,000 actors, special lighting effects, and 3D projections to make it come to life.

One-day tickets start at 35 euros for adults and 25 euros for children. However, if you want to witness Cinescenie, you'll want to get a combo ticket which is 56 euros for adults and 44 euros for children.

4. Head Over to Chouette Land

If you could use a break from rambunctious kids, find a camping spot near Chouette Land.

Chouette Land has tons of inflatable structures so kids can try their hand at riding a mechanical bull, sumo suit wrestling, or just bounce to their heart's content in one of the other dozen inflatable structures.

There's also a pedal kart track where 24 kids can race at once. Tickets are only 8.90 euros for children ages 3 to 12, 6.50 euros for children under 3, and free for adults.

5. Visit Futuroscope

Futuroscope is a popular amusement park with a futuristic theme.

You can dance with robots and explore science-fiction worlds on their several rides and rollercoasters. There are also four different shows that really help this park come to life.

Family tickets for one day start at 63 euros per person, but the park offers many multi-day ticket options to help you save money for longer stays. So, make sure you find a campsite nearby, so you can go back for more.

6. Go Canoeing or Kayaking

The River Tardoire is one of the best places to do enjoy an afternoon of canoeing or kayaking.

You'll enjoy the breathtaking scenery as you float through the city of Montbron. You'll pass castles from the 12th and 19th century and restored mills from the 20th century.

Maison du Canoe is a great place to book this adventure through as their prices are affordable. Just be sure to make reservations in advance if you're planning to travel during peak summer months.

7. Try White Water Rafting

They don't call the banks of the Gartempe river the "gates to the rocks of hell" for nothing.

Yakone is a great tour operator to use for this adrenaline-pumping adventure. Children as young as 6 can enjoy white water rafting with their family, and boats hold up to 7 people so everyone can ride together.

Prices run 30 euros for adults and 25 euros for children and students. But you can take 5 euros off that cost if you plan to travel during the week or have a group of 10 people or more.

8. Visit Les Lacs de Haute Charente

The best part about camping around Les Lacs de Haute Charente is that you'll never run out of things to do. You can go boating, water skiing, sunbathing, horseback riding, hiking, and more.
